You receive an "Invalid page fault" error message when you try to view the contents of a folder or its subfolders by using Thumbnail view in Windows Explorer

SYMPTOMS

When you try to view the contents of a folder or its subfolders by using Thumbnail view, you may receive one of the following error messages:
EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module THUMBVW.DLL at 015f:799eaee4
-or-
EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 015f:bff9d709

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the Thumbs.db file, which contains the thumbnails for a particular folder, is corrupted in the folder or subfolders whose contents you are trying to view.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
1.Delete the Thumbs.db file in the folder and subfolders that have Thumbnail view enabled.

Note To see the Thumbs.db file, you must be able to view hidden files. To view hidden files, click Folder Options on the View menu in Windows Explorer, click the View tab, click Show All Files, and then click OK.

2.To re-create the Thumbs.db file, click the folder whose contents you are trying to view in Microsoft Windows Explorer, and then click Thumbnails on the View menu.
