SYMPTOMS

When you try to add a network service in the Network tool in Control Panel, the "Service" network component type may be missing.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if any of the following features have been disabled by system policies or registry entries:
   Control for File Sharing
   Control for Print Sharing
   Print Sharing Service
   File Sharing Service

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact your system administrator to request that one or more of these features be enabled.
