When you try to add a network component in the Network tool in Control
Panel, the protocol, client, or service you want to add may be missing. NOTE: If the Nettrans.inf file is missing, there may be only
three clients listed in the available protocols option: | • | ATM Call Manager | | • | ATM LAN Emulation Client | | • | PPP over ATM (protocol) |

CAUSE
This behavior can occur if one or more of the following files used by
Windows to add a protocol, client, or service is missing or damaged:
| • | Nettrans.inf | | • | Netcli.inf | | • | Netservr.inf |

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, determine if one of the files used by Windows to
add a protocol, client or service is missing or damaged, and if it is,
extract a new copy of the file. To do so, use the following steps:
| 1. | Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. | | 2. | Double-click Network, click Add, click Protocol, and then click Add. View one or more of the following network protocols, and if any of these protocols are missing, extract a new copy of the Nettrans.inf file to the Windows\Inf folder:
