SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install the Easy Setup Software (Easy500.exe) program for your Epson Stylus Color 500 printer, you may receive the following error message:
EPSIN500 caused a general protection fault in module EPSIN500.EXE at 0003:00000068.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, install version 2.2AE or later of the Epson Stylus Color 500 printer drivers. For information about how to obtain updated printer drivers, contact Epson Technical Support.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this behavior is not caused by a problem in Windows 98, but may be caused by design changes in Windows 98. For more information about resolving this issue, contact the program's manufacturer.
