SYMPTOMS

When you connect to a site through a Microsoft Proxy server, you may receive multiple logon prompts.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Microsoft Proxy server is set to use NTLM (challenge/response) authentication.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, turn off NTLM authentication on the Microsoft Proxy server. Use Anonymous or Clear Text authentication instead.
