SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to start Microsoft Notepad, you may receive the following error message:
NOTEPAD caused an invalid page fault in module NOTEPAD.EXE at address CAUSE
This behavior can occur if either of the following conditions exists:
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, follow these steps:
If an error message still occurs when you start Notepad and you are not using any third-party display utilities, obtain an updated driver for your video adapter. For information about how to do so, contact your video adapter's manufacturer. For information about how to update your video adapter driver, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type drivers, and then double-click the Adding, changing topic.
