SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to create a new connection in the Dial-Up Networking folder, you may receive the following error message:
RUNDLL32 caused an invalid page fault in module RNAUI.DLL at address.

CAUSE
This error message can occur if the following registry key has been removed:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\RemoteAccess\Authentication\SMM_Files

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, remove and reinstall Dial-Up Networking:
| 1. | Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. | | 2. | Double-click Add/Remove Programs. | | 3. | Click the Windows Setup tab, click Communications, and then click Details. | | 4. | Click the Dial-up Networking check box to clear it, click OK, and then click OK. | | 5. | Restart your computer. | | 6. | Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Windows Explorer. | | 7. | If it exists, rename the Rasapi32.dll file located in the Windows\System folder. For information about how to rename a file, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type renaming, and then double-click the Renaming Files topic. | | 8. | Extract a new copy of the Rasapi32.dll file.For additional information about extracting files, click the article number below
