When you use the "Formatting" effect to apply a font to text that has been formatted, the font does not change.

For example, if the original text is formatted with the Arial font and the "Formatting" effect font is set to Times New Roman, the font does not change to Times New Roman.

Character level styles take precedence over paragraph level styles. When you apply the "Formatting" effect to preformatted text, its appearance is not altered.

Dynamic HTML effects are applied as paragraph level styles. When you apply a font to text it is applied as a character level style.
