SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to view the properties of your CD-R or CD-RW drive in Windows Explorer, you may receive the following error message:
EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module MFC42.DLL at 0177:5f40492c.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install Adaptec DirectCD 2.5d (Dcd25dup.exe). For additional information about DirectCD, visit the following Adaptec Web site:
http://www.adaptec.com (http://www.adaptec.com)
To work around this issue, view the properties of the drive using the icon installed by DirectCD on the right side of the taskbar. You receive the following message every time DirectCD starts. If DirectCD is in your StartUp folder, you receive the message every time your computer starts:

If you do not want to see this message every time your computer starts, remove DirectCD from the StartUp folder until an upgrade is available from Adaptec.
