Works Suite Err Msg: Comcat.dll Was Unable to Register Itself in the System Registry

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install Microsoft Works Suite 99, you may receive the following error message:
Comcat.dll was unable to register itself in the system registry.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue:

1.Click Start, click Shut Down, click Restart in MS-DOS mode, and then click OK.
2.Type the following lines at the MS-DOS prompt, pressing ENTER after you type each line
cd/<windows>/system
ren comcat.dll comcat.old
exit
where <windows> is the folder in which Microsoft Windows is installed.
3.When Windows restarts, reinstall Works Suite 99.
