During Windows Setup You Are Prompted to Type the CD Key Again

SYMPTOMS

When you set up Windows 98 Second Edition or Windows Millennium Edition (Me), you may be prompted to enter your CD Key again.

CAUSE

This issue can occur for any of the following reasons:
You highlight a section of text in the CD Key box, and then try to type over the text.

You have Caps Lock on your keyboard enabled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
1.Click OK to clear the CD Key prompt.
2.Click the CD Key box you want to change, and then press the Delete or Backspace key to clear the contents of the CD Key box. Repeat this step for each CD Key box you want to change.
3.Press the Caps Lock key to turn off Caps Lock on your keyboard.
4.Type the correct CD Key in the appropriate boxes.
