General Protection Fault When You Quit Internet Explorer

SYMPTOMS

When you quit an instance of Internet Explorer, you may receive a general protection fault error message.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the Web page you are viewing has opened up additional windows using the window.open() method and additional JScript code is being used to close these windows when you quit the instance of your browser.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, download and install the latest scripting engine from the following Microsoft Web site or upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer 5:
