MORE INFORMATION

If you use Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Vista in a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) environment, and you want to enable one of these versions of Windows as an SNMP agent, you must first install the SNMP service and any services that are required for an MIB.

When you have installed the SNMP service, you can issue SNMP queries from a management server to a computer that is running one of these versions of Windows. A management server can issue these requests by using precompiled MIBs that come with the operating system.

The following MIBs were included with Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Vista.
