PRB: Error Occurs When You Use HTML Help Workshop 1.3 to Convert a WinHelp Project to HTML Help

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use HTML Help 1.3 to convert a WinHelp project to an HTML Help project, you receive the error message
The DLLs necessary to convert RTF to HTML have not been installed correctly. Reinstall HTML Help Workshop and try again.
-or-
Cannot open project file. A required converter is not installed or could not be loaded.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the following DLL files in the application folder (where you installed HTML Help Workshop) are not being registered:
Cnvcnt.dll
Cnvtoc.dll
Gencnv.dll
Hhcout.dll
Hhkout.dll
Itcc.dll
Navout.dll
Spcom.dll
Sprbuild.dll
Spredit.dll
Sprfile.dll
Sprlog.dll

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, you can use the following procedure to register each of the .dll files:
1.Open a command prompt.
2.Navigate to the folder where HTML Help is installed.
3.Type the following: regsvr32 <name of .dll that you want to register>

NOTE: If you are using Win9x, you must provide the full path to Regsvr32, which is in the Windows\System directory.
