SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade Microsoft Windows 2000 to Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Outlook Express is not upgraded to version 5.5 or Outlook Express 5.5 SP1.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install Windows 2000 SP1, Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1, or Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 2 (SP2), and then install Internet Explorer 5.5 or Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1.

To upgrade Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, follow these steps:
1.Remove Internet Explorer 5.5 or Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1.
2. Install Windows 2000 Service Pack 1, Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 or Internet Explorer 5.01 SP2.
