Logitech PageScan Does Not Work After Upgrade

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade to Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) from Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition, USB Logitech PageScan no longer functions.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Microsoft Windows 98 driver does not work with Windows Me.

RESOLUTION

Install the Storm PageScan USB driver. You can download this driver from the following Windrivers Web site:
http://www.windrivers.com (http://www.windrivers.com/)
NOTE: You do not need to remove the Windows 98 driver before you install the Storm PageScan USB driver. Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. This contact information may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this third-party contact information.

The Storm PageScan USB driver can co-exist on your computer with the Windows 98 driver. However, if you want to remove the Windows 98 driver, open Device Manager, click Imaging Device, click the Windows 98 driver, and then click Remove.

NOTE: You will need software to unzip the zipped (compressed) file you will download. If you do not have software to unzip the file, you may go to:

and download a free evaluation version of Winzip.

1.Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double-click System.
2.Click Device Manager, select Logitech PageScan and click Remove to remove it from Device Manager.
3.Click OK to close Device Manager.
4.Go to the Storm Web site:

http://www.windrivers.com (http://www.windrivers.com/)

and download the PageScanUSB.zip file. Choose the option Save this file to disk and save it to a folder on your computer.

WARNING: The download file is 11MB in size. If you have a slow Internet connection you may wish to download this when you do not need the computer for a couple of hours.
5.The file Page Scan USB.exe is the only file included in the zipped file. Double-click on the .exe file to start the installation and follow the prompts to install the driver.
