Error Message: The Driver NT1003.SYS Is Not Compatible with Windows Me

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to upgrade your computer to Windows Millennium Edition (Me), you may encounter the following error message:
The Driver NT1003.SYS is not compatible with Windows Me. You must connect to http://www.nogatech.com/vfw/vfwupdate.htm to get the updated driver. After you have updated your driver, you can continue setup or read Hardware.txt on the Windows Me CD.

CAUSE

This can occur if you have a Universal Serial Bus (USB) Capture Device that uses the NT1003 chipset produced by Nogatech. A device known to use this chipset is the Belkin F5U207 Video to USB capture card.

RESOLUTION

Contact the manufacturer of the Video to USB Capture device connected to your computer or visit the Nogatech Web site.

WORKAROUND

To work around this message, use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel to remove the Belkin Components USB Videobus software, and then restart the Windows Me Setup.
