This article describes how to add shortcuts to the contents of the desktop
and a Windows Explorer view of the Start menu to the Start menu.
To add a shortcut to the contents of the desktop to the Start menu, follow
these steps:
| 1. | Use the right mouse button to click the Start button, and then click
Explore on the menu that appears.

| 2. | In the All Folders pane, click Start Menu.
|
| 3. | On the File menu, point to New, and then click Shortcut.
|
| 4. | Type the following line in the Command Line box, and then click
Next:
c:\windows\desktop
|
| 5. | Click Finish.
|
| 6. | Close Windows Explorer.

To add a shortcut to a Windows Explorer view of the Start menu to the Start
menu, follow these steps:
| 1. | Use the right mouse button to click the Start button, and then click
Explore on the menu that appears.

| 2. | Drag the Start Menu folder to the Start button.
|
| 3. | Close Windows Explorer.
