FP98: Unable to Insert Text Overlays On Animated GIFs

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to insert a text overlay over an animated GIF (CompuServe Graphics Interchange Format), the Text-On-Image tool on the Image toolbar will not be available.

CAUSE

An animated GIF is a special type of GIF image that contains a series of "frames" to produce an animated effect. The Text-On-Image tool was not designed for these types of images.

RESOLUTION

To apply the text-on-image effect, you must use a regular GIF image.
\ For more information about inserting an image on a page, click the Index tab in FrontPage 98 Help, type the following text
GIF images, adding text to
and then double-click the selected text to go to the "To add text to an image" topic.
