SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Word 97 to create an envelope or label and select the name for the delivery address from your Microsoft Outlook 98 Contacts, you do not have the option to choose which address is used.

NOTE: This also occurs using the Recipient Information tab in the Letter Wizard, and the Insert Address command or button on a toolbar.

CAUSE

Word requires a fully compliant Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) address book. The Internet Mail installation option of Outlook is not a fully compliant MAPI client. NOTE: Only Microsoft Word 97 has a converter that recognizes the Outlook Address Book. Neither earlier versions of Microsoft Word, nor other word processing programs, are able to use the Outlook Contacts.
