SYMPTOMS

When opening a fax message in Microsoft Outlook 98 you receive the following error:
There is no viewer capable of viewing FXO files

CAUSE

Files with an .FXO extension are not associated with any Windows program.

RESOLUTION

To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

1.Quit Outlook.
2.Click Start, point to Find, and click Files or Folders
3.In the Named Box type *.FXO and click OK.
4.Click one of the .FXO files in the search results list, and while pressing SHIFT, right-click the selected file.
5.Click Open With, and click Quick View.
6.Click to select "Always use this program to open this type of file," and click OK.
7.Double-click the .FXO file to view it.
