SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start Internet Explorer, you may receive the following error message:
The application "Internet Explorer 3.01" could not be opened because "Microsoft Runtime Library (68k)" could not be found.

CAUSE

This error message can occur if either of the following conditions exists:
The "MS C Library (68k)" file or another file is damaged or missing from the "System Folder:Extensions:MS Library Folder" folder.
The "System Folder:Extensions:MS Library Folder" folder is missing.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, use either of the following methods:
If the "MS C Library (68k)" file is not located in the "System Folder: Extensions:MS Library Folder" folder, move it to the "System Folder: Extensions:MS Library Folder" folder.
If the MS Library Folder folder is not located in the "System Folder: Extensions" folder, move it to the "System Folder:Extensions" folder.
Install Internet Explorer again.
