SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Word as your default mail editor in Microsoft Outlook, you may discover that recipients receive the messages in Plain Text format. This can happen if you use Microsoft Outlook in either the Internet Mail Only (IMO) mode or in the Corporate or Workgroup (CW) mode using the Internet E-mail service.

RESOLUTION

To select Microsoft Word as the e-mail editor, follow these steps:
1.On the Tools menu, click Options and then click the Mail Format tab.
2.On the Mail Format tab, in the "Send in this message format" box, click to select Microsoft Word.
To preserve the Word formatting in a message, follow these steps:
1.On the File menu, point to New, and click Mail Message. Prepare the message using the formatting features of Word.
2.On the File menu of the message, click Properties and click to select, "Send in Microsoft Outlook Rich Text Format," and then click OK.
3.Click Send. Word formatting will be retained in the sent message.
