Err Msg: ADPST32 Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module...

SYMPTOMS

When you reinstall the Adaptec EZ-SCSI version 4.0x software, you may receive the following error message:
ADPST32 caused an invalid page fault in module MSCUISTF.dll at 015f:007dlbf7.

After you receive this error message, the computer may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the following conditions exist:
An Adaptec 3940UW Dual Channel SCSI adapter is installed on your computer.
You previously set the Write and Read Cache settings to Enable in SCSI Explorer (included with EZ-SCSI 4.0x).
You uninstalled the EZ-SCSI software and then restarted the computer before attempting to reinstall the EZ-SCSI software.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
1.Restart the computer. When you see the SCSI BIOS information, press CTRL+A to start the SCSI Setup program.
2.In the SCSI Setup program, press the F6 key to restore the factory default settings. You must do this for both channels.
3.Turn your computer off and back on.
4.Uninstall and then reinstall the EZ-SCSI software.
