SYMPTOMS

If a program uses the older GetOpenFileName() API and is currently logged on to a Novell network, the following error message may occur in Microsoft Windows 98:
MPREXE.EXE caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL

CAUSE

This problem occurs because of a problem with the Microsoft Client for NetWare Networks and the Microsoft Service for NetWare Directory Services (MSNDS) network clients.

RESOLUTION

This issue was addressed on 12/15/98.

Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.
