SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Outlook 2000 when you click Outlook Today, the view is blank.

CAUSE

This behavior is a result of the new Outlook 2000 option for associating Web views with folders. On the View menu the "Show Folder Home Page" option toggles the Web view on and off. Since Outlook Today is a Web page build by the Outlwvw.dll file, when the Web view is turned off you may not see the Outlook Today page.

One possible reason for the absence of Outlook Today in the view area is that you have cleared the option to "Show home page by default for this folder."

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:

1.On the View menu, click the Folder List.
2.In the Folder List, right-click the Outlook Today folder, and then click Properties.
3.In the Mailbox Properties dialog box, click the Home Page tab.
4.Select Show home page by default for this folder, and then click OK.
