Changes on DNS Configuration Tab Not Reset When You Click Cancel

SYMPTOMS

When you click the Enable DNS or Disable DNS option on the DNS Configuration tab in the TCP/IP Properties dialog box, the settings do not revert to the previous settings if you click Cancel.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you click Cancel on the DNS Configuration tab and then click OK in the Network dialog box.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this problem from occurring, click Cancel instead of OK in the Network dialog box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 98 and Microsoft Windows 95.
