White Text on Black Background Is Not Printed Properly

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to print an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) document with white text on a black background from any version of Acrobat Reader to a Hewlett- Packard (HP) printer, only the black background may be printed.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if your HP printer uses a Printer Control Language (PCL) driver.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact HP to inquire about the availability of an updated PCL driver for your printer.

To work around this issue, follow these steps:

1.Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
2.Right-click the printer you want, and then click Properties.
3.On the Graphics tab, click Use Raster Graphics.
4.Click OK, and then close the Printers folder.

MORE INFORMATION

This is a limitation of HP PCL drivers. This issue does not occur with PostScript drivers.
