SYMPTOMS

When you send a fax from Microsoft Outlook Internet Mail Only support, you may receive a Fax Undeliverable message. If you open this message, it displays the following error:
An error occurred while sending the Fax.
The error is : Please select a cover page or attach a file then re-send your fax.

CAUSE

You did not choose to send a cover page with the document.

RESOLUTION

Select the option to send a cover page with the message.

Send the message as an attachment.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

To Select the Option to Send a Cover Page

1.On the Tools menu, click Options.
2.On the Fax tab, click Template.
3.On the Cover Page tab, click to select Send Cover Page, and then click OK twice.

To Send the Message as an Attachment

1.On the File menu of the Message, click Print.
2.In the Print dialog box, click to select "Symantec Fax Starter Edition" from the Printer Name list, and click OK.
3.Outlook opens a new message with the first one as an attachment. Type the fax number in the To: line in the format "Fax@<telephone number>" (without the quotation marks), and click Send.
