When you install Office 2000, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 either is not installed completely or is not installed at all. You do not receive a message to indicate that Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 is not installed correctly, in either situation. CAUSE
An error occurred during the silent installation of Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, while you were installing Microsoft Office 2000. For example, you may have less than 5 megabytes of disk space on the hard disk where your operating system is located, or a general Setup error may have occurred. None of Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 is installed if there is insufficient disk space on the hard disk where your operating system is located. Some components of Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 may be installed in other situations.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, run Internet Explorer 5 Setup by following these steps:
