FP2000: Browser Restrictions Don't Disable Web Templates and Wizards

SYMPTOMS

When you click to clear the "Enabled with Microsoft Frontpage Server Extensions" check box in the Page Options dialog box, many of the templates and wizards that insert web technologies dependent on FrontPage Server Extensions are not disabled.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The "Enabled with Microsoft Frontpage Server Extentions" check box is used to ensure compatibility with servers that do not use the FrontPage Server Extensions. When you disable this feature, web technologies that rely on the presence of the server extensions on the server will be unavailable (dimmed).

Following is a list of templates and wizards that insert web technologies. They require the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.
