FP2000: Menu, Toolbar Icons Have Black Background on Windows 98 with ATI Video Adapter

SYMPTOMS

When you use FrontPage 2000 on a computer that is running Windows 98 and has the ATI Rage II 3D video adapter installed, the menu or toolbar icons may be displayed with a black background.

RESOLUTION

Use either method to resolve this problem.

Method 1: Install a Current Version of the ATI Driver

Install the ATI driver version 4.10.2411 or later.

Method 2: Turn Off Hardware Acceleration for the Driver

1.On the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
2.Double-click the Display icon.
3.In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.
4.Click Advanced and then click the Performance tab.
5.Set the Hardware Graphics setting to None.
6.Click Apply and then click OK.
7.Click Close.
8.When prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
