SYMPTOMS

If you select the Enable Remote Connection option on the Default Security tab in the DCOM configuration program (Dcomcnfg.exe) and then upgrade to Windows 98 Second Edition, the Enable Remote Connection option becomes disabled.

RESOLUTION

Select the Enable Remote Connection option again after upgrading to Windows 98 Second Edition. Run Dcomcnfg.exe and click to select the Enable Remote Connection check box on the Default Security tab.
