Power Meter Displayed in Taskbar After Installing Sound Blaster

SYMPTOMS

After you install the drivers and software for the Creative Labs Sound Blaster PCI 64 or PCI 128, the power meter icon may be displayed on the taskbar.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the software and drivers for the Creative Labs Sound Blaster PCI 64 or PCI 128 enable the power meter icon on the taskbar.

If you check the Advanced tab in the Power Management tool in Control Panel, the Always show icon on the taskbar is cleared.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
1.Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2.Double-click Power Management, and then click the Advanced tab.
3.Click to select the Always show icon on the taskbar check box, and then click Apply.
4.Click to clear the Always show icon on the taskbar check box, and then click OK.
