After you upgrade to Internet Explorer 5, the Windows Update Web site may not download add-on components in English.
Method 2: Modify the Registry to Set Downloads Back to English
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve
problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk.
1.
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.

Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_USERS\.Default\Control Panel\International
3.
Right-click Locale, and then click Modify.
4.
In the Value data box, type 00000409, and then click OK.
