When you upgrade to Windows Millennium Edition, you may receive the following error message:
Setup does not have enough conventional memory to check your computer's hard disks. You need to free some conventional memory before continuing.
For information on freeing conventional memory, see Setup.txt on the Windows Millennium CD. CAUSE
This issue can occur if your hard disk is marked as removable.
NOTE: The Setup.txt file on the Windows Millennium Edition CD-ROM contains a list of other reasons that can cause this issue. RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, verify that the disk where you are installing Windows Millennium Edition is not incorrectly marked as a removable device.
Contact the manufacturer of the disk if you are unsure whether or not it should be marked as removable. To determine if the disk is marked as removable and to change its status follow these steps:
