RPC Server service stops responding
This article was previously published under Q272303 SYMPTOMS If a malicious user transmits a malformed Remote Procedure
Call (RPC) client packet to a Windows 2000-based computer, the RPC Server
service on the host computer may stop responding (hang). If this occurs, you
must restart the host computer for the RPC Server service to work properly.
RESOLUTION

Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help to prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.
