PowerPoint 2000  Movie Troubleshooter

You can insert your movie into PowerPoint, but PowerPoint cannot play it.

When you insert your movie in PowerPoint, it does not play when you double-click it. There are several known issues that may cause this behavior, and there are also some general troubleshooting steps that you can take to isolate this type of issue.

Do you receive one of the following symptoms when you try to play your movie?

• Action Button Doesn't Start Sound or Movie Object

• Error Message: vids:dvsd decompressor not available. The Active Movie can't decode the codec of the avi file.

• Error Message: QuickTime(tm) and a Video decompressor are needed to see this picture

• Error Message: The specified file cannot be played on the specified MCI device. The file may be corrupt, not in the correct format, or no fil 

• I'm not receiving any of these errors, what else can I try?

• None of these describe my symptoms, and I'd like to see a specific list of error messages.
