PowerPoint 2000
 Movie Troubleshooter

You can play your movie in PowerPoint, but it does not look right when played.

If you have too few colors available in Microsoft Windows, a process called palette swapping may affect your movie in PowerPoint. If your colors appear incorrect, chunky, blocky, or the wrong color, try changing the color depth in Windows. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Save your work and close PowerPoint.

  2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

  3. Double-click the Display icon.

  4. Click the Settings tab.

  5. Check the color settings. If the color setting is 16 or 256 colors, change it to 16-bit (high color) or 24-bit (true color).

  6. You may be prompted to restart your computer. When you are finished, test your movie file in PowerPoint again.
