Consider the following scenario:
- You install Windows Live Essentials 2011 on a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows and that has Windows Internet Explorer 9 Beta installed.
- You try to use the Send Feedback tool in Internet Explorer 9 Beta.
Please install the Windows Live ID Sign-in AssistantAdditionally, the error message window contains the following link:
Get the Windows Live ID Sign-In AssistantWhen you try to download and install Windows Live ID Sign-In Assistant from the link, you are notified that you already have a more recent version installed.
This issue occurs because of a change to Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant for Windows Live Essentials 2011. This change requires applications that use Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant to reference the full path of the required DLLs. However, the Send Feedback tool in Internet Explorer 9 Beta does not use the full path of the required DLLs. Therefore, the 32-bit version of the Send Feedback tool tries to load a 64-bit DLL. This behavior causes a failure that is interpreted as Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant not being installed.
