FIX: Stop Error "0x000000F4" occurs when an application creates a process in a cross-session manner in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You run an application that creates a cross-session process in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • This process is immediately killed.

In this scenario, the system crashes. Additionally, you may receive a Stop error message that resembles the following:

STOP 0x000000F4 (0x00000003, Parameter2, Parameter3, Parameter4)
CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION

Notes
  • The parameters in this Stop error message may vary, depending on the configuration of the computer. However, the first parameter is always 0x00000003.
  • Not all "0x000000F4" Stop errors are caused by this issue.
  • The problem may occur if Hitachi's JP1 software package is installed on the server.
