Cortana is your digital agent. She'll help you get things done.
The more you use Cortana, the more personalized your experience will be.
To get started, type a question in the search box, or select the microphone and talk to Cortana. (Typing works for all types of PCs, but you need a mic to talk.)
If you’re not sure what to say, you’ll see suggestions on your lock screen, and in Cortana home when you select the search box on the taskbar.

Here are some things Cortana can do for you:
Give you reminders based on time, places, or people.
Track packages, teams, interests, and flights.
Send emails and texts.
Manage your calendar and keep you up to date.
Create and manage lists.
Chit chat and play games.
Find facts, files, places, and info.
Open any app on your system.
Cortana makes sure nothing important slips through the cracks across your work and your life, giving you the confidence of knowing someone’s got your back. Cortana helps you remember in many ways: setting reminders for the right time, place, or person; creating reminders from sticky notes you’ve inked; and organizing your lists. Now she can even notify you about the things you’ve mentioned doing and the deadlines you’ve set over email.
At the perfect time, Cortana brings up those things you mentioned doing. No more deadlines you’ve missed—just promises you’ve kept.
If you’re signed in to Cortana and have already provided communications consent, you’ll start seeing suggested reminders. These will be pulled from emails sent from the account you used to sign in to your PC. The feature currently supports Office 365 and Outlook accounts. To add another email for suggested reminders, you can go to connected accounts.
The action center is the place to find Cortana’s latest reminder suggestions. When a deadline is looming, Cortana may notify you as well. Or you can go through the full list yourself by asking Cortana for your suggested reminders.
Want to set your own reminders? Cortana can remind you to do things based on time, places, or even people.
For example, type or say, "Remind me to congratulate Tanya the next time she calls."
The reminder will appear when you get a call from Tanya.
Extra bonus—reminders sync across your devices not only on Windows phone but on Android and iOS too.
Set Cortana to hear you anytime you say "Hey Cortana." Select the search box on the taskbar to open Cortana home. Then select Settings and turn on Let Cortana respond to "Hey Cortana."
Cortana is only available in certain countries/regions, and some Cortana features might not be available everywhere.
