Whether you're the hands-on type or like improvements that work automagically, the Photos app in Windows 10 gives you all kinds of options for getting your photos and videos to look their best.
Select the Start button, then select Photos to get started.
To crop, rotate, add a filter, or automatically enhance your shot, begin by selecting Edit. For more pro controls, select Edit > Adjust, and then manually tweak things like light, color, or clarity. You can even remove red eyes.
To touch up blemishes, select Edit > Adjust > Spot fix. Use the buttons at the bottom to undo, redo, or reset your photo.
Sometimes, there's more to the story than what pictures and videos can convey on their own. Add a personal touch to your favorite moments by drawing on your photos and videos.
To get started, open a photo or video from your collection, then select Edit > Draw . Then, choose your favorite pen from the Windows Ink toolbar, select a color and size option, and draw right on your shot!
You can always erase markings you don't like with the eraser tool, or clear your whole drawing by selecting Eraser > Erase all ink.
When drawing on a video, you can attach your ink to a particular person or object in the video, and it will stay with that object as it moves or the camera angle changes. Draw on the video, and then select the anchor icon. Drag the anchor to the object you want to attach it to.
Once you're happy with your drawing, share it! To share a still of your new image or an animated playback of your drawing, select Share > Share as photo or Share as video. Once the ink dries, post your new creation on Facebook, send it over email, or even text it.
Trim a video
Cut to the chase—or any other part of your video—with the Trim controls in Photos. Then share the director's cut with your friends.
In Collection view, click or tap a video to view it, then select Trim .
Move the white dots at the beginning and end of the video to the new start and end points you want.
Select Play to test out your changes. (The blue dot shows where the video will start playing. You can move that around too.)
When you're happy with your edits, select Save a copy. Your video will be saved as a new video. The original is still available, too.
