Link or unlink an MCP ID to or from a partner organization

    Indhold leveret af Microsoft

    Indhold leveret af Microsoft

    Summary

An individual who is associated with a partner organization can link their MCP ID to the organization. The partner organization meets competency requirements by having individuals with linked MCP IDs associated to the organization—the MCP ID brings the associated exam and certification credentials to the associated partner organization. An MCP can be associated to the MPN memberships of multiple organizations, but his or her MCP ID can only be linked to a single MPN membership at a time. The MCP ID contributes only to the competency requirements of the membership to which the MCP ID is linked.

The individual who has the MCP certification must perform the steps to link or unlink their own MCP ID from an organization. This is necessary because of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) policies.

Note Do not confuse linking and unlinking of MCP IDs with the association and disassociation of individuals. It is possible for an individual with MCP certifications to associate to an MPN membership without associating their MCP ID to the membership.

    More Information

How to link an MCP ID to a partner organization

Individuals can enter an MCP ID in their Individual Profile when associating themselves to an MPN membership. They can also enter their MPC ID later, following the steps below. Note that these steps can be completed only by the individual who has earned the MCP certification.
    1. Sign in to the partner organization account on the Partner Membership Center.
      • If the individual has administrator rights, the Home screen is displayed. Click Administration on the top menu bar, and then click Manage Your Individual Profile.

      • If the individual does not have Administrator rights, the Individual Account Home page is displayed. Click Edit Profile on the right side of the page.

    2. On the Individual Profile page, enter the MCP ID in the Your Microsoft Certified Professional Information section. Then click Update at the bottom of the page.
    3. When the MCP ID is successfully updated, the Individual Account Home page is displayed.
    4. On the MCP and Certifications tab of the Individual Account Home page, the MCP will select the company to which they want to associate to by using the drop-down menu. They will then click Confirm Association.

How to unlink an MCP ID from a partner organization

The following steps can be completed only by the individual who wants to unlink their MCP ID from the partner organization:
    1. Sign in to the partner organization account on the Partner Membership Center. If the individual has administrator rights, the Home screen is displayed. Click Administration on the top menu bar, and then click Your Individual Account Page.
      • If the individual has administrator rights, the Home screen is displayed. Click Administration on the top menu bar, and then click Your Individual Account Page.

      • If the individual does not have Administration rights, the Individual Account Home is displayed.
    2. On the Individual Account Home page, click the MCP and Certifications tab.

    3. The MCP can change the organization that the MCP ID is associated to by selecting the name of the organization in the Change MCP Association drop-down menu. (If the desired organization is not listed, the MCP will first need to associate as an individual to the MPN membership of that organization.) To remove the association from all organizations, the MCP will select Link to None in the drop-down.

    4. After a selection is made, the MCP will select, Confirm Association.
    5. The MCP also has the option to click Unlink MCP ID. This will unlink the MCP ID from his or her Microsoft account.

    6. The MCP will be asked to select OK to confirm the action.
