KB4486852 - FIX: Access violation when you run a query that contains a batch-mode hash join on Clustered Columnstore Index table in SQL Server 2016

Symptoms

Assume that you have a table that has a Clustered Columnstore Index (CCI) in Microsoft SQL Server 2016. When you run a query that contains a batch-mode hash join, an access violation may occur.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

• Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2016 SP2

• Cumulative Update 13 for SQL Server 2016 SP1

Workaround
