You can find new courses, sync the course you’re currently playing, check the distance to the green, track your shots, and review your round using the Golf Tile on Microsoft Band.

Sign up for a TaylorMade account

When you open the Golf Tile for the first time, or if you search for golf courses in the Microsoft Band app without signing in, the app will suggest that you connect to a TaylorMade™ account. You don’t need a TaylorMade account

external

Set up the Golf Tile on your Band

  • Wear your Band on your leading arm (glove arm). If you’re using right-handed clubs, for example, wear it on your left wrist. If you’re using left-handed clubs, wear it on your right wrist. When placing your Band on your wrist, make sure the buttons face toward your body, not your hand.
  • Don’t start your Band session too early. To make sure your Band can detect the holes properly, start your session right before you enter the first tee box. It’s OK to give GPS a couple of minutes to lock.
  • As soon as you enter the first tee box, take a large, full-extension swing as your first swing of the round. This calibration and orientation swing can be a practice swing or a contact swing. Your calibration swing should have a full back swing and follow-through, as if you’re hitting a drive off a tee. If you don’t take a large swing as your calibration swing, your Band’s shot detection will not work correctly.
  • Once you’ve started the round, you’ll need to wear your Band on the same arm and in the same orientation (on the outside or the inside of the wrist) for the rest of the round.
  • Always use both hands during a swing for your Band to detect your strokes.
  • Your golf form affects the reliability of your Band’s stroke detection Shot detection may not work as well for novice golfers.
