In Microsoft Windows Movie Maker, when you click Save Movie on the File menu, the video file may not be saved and the progress bar may stop responding.

This issue can be caused by a corrupted sound track in one or more of the clips in your timeline.

To resolve this issue, you may need to recapture the video clip.

To work around this issue, remove the corrupted clip from your time line. For information about how to delete a transition within a clip in Windows Movie Maker, click Help, click Help Topics, and then click the Search tab. Type delete transition, and then double-click the "To delete a transition" topic.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

More Information

When you save a movie, if you click Cancel, you are returned to the Windows Movie Maker window.
