To disable the net crawl functionality:
- Double-click My Computer.
- On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab.
- Under Advanced settings, click to clear the Automatically search for network folders and printers check box.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
: If the preceding steps do not disable the net crawl functionality, change the NoNetCrawling data value to 1 in the following registry key:
