Mixed languages in Internet Explorer 11 Group Policy descriptions on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Symptoms

Internet Explorer Group Policy descriptions are displayed in mixed languages on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. This problem occurs after you install MS15-106: Security update for Internet Explorer: October 13, 2015 .

Resolution

Method 1: Cumulative security update

To fix this issue, install the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To do this, go to Microsoft Update. Additionally, see the technical information about the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer.

Note This update was first included in the MS15-124: Security update for Internet Explorer: December 8, 2015 (3104002).

Method 2: Hotfix

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
