FIX: Recurring visual state problem in a Silverlight for Windows Embedded app when the September 2015 update is installed

Introduction

This article describes an issue in which a visual state problem recurs in a Silverlight for Windows Embedded app when the September 2015 update is installed in Windows Embedded Compact 7. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

You have a device that has the September 2015 update installed in Windows Embedded Compact 7. Additionally, you have a Silverlight for Windows Embedded (SWE) app that uses a custom user control derived from the IXRControl class. This custom user control performs the following operations:
  • Unload Control
  • Reload Control
  • Set Visual State

When you run the SWE app and then click the Set Visual State button to choose a specified state, the visual state for the custom user control changes. If you click the Unload Control button and then click the Reload Control button, the visual state that you chose is lost, and the default state is changed.
